Learn about Lamps

January 23 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Robert Temple of Reclaimed Luminosity will help you learn about lamps! Take apart a lamp made from recycled and upcycled materials and use that to understand the makings of an upcycled lamp. Robert will demonstrate simple lamp repairs such as worn out sockets and plugs, as well as how to replace a single socket or 3-way socket with a dimmer socket. Bring a small lamp to repair!  FREE, Ages 12+

Reclaimed Luminosity is a collection of lamps and light sculptures, made by hand using reclaimed materials and found objects.

Robert is an artist and musician, based in Oakland, CA, originally from New Jersey. After years of collecting and salvaging interesting items, he started to experiment with creating lamps and love exploring the combination of light, form, and function.

His vision in both art and music is guided by balancing logic and structure with openness, creativity, and improvisation. His lamps are all one- or two-of-a-kind, featuring unexpected forms that develop organically as he works. They are made using mostly recycled and up-cycled materials; including glass, metal, ceramic, slate, and granite.
